About Us

We are a family-run plumbing and heating business based in Leicestershire, proudly serving the local community and surrounding areas. With a wealth of experience across all aspects of plumbing and heating, our team of three skilled engineers is dedicated to providing top-quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.

Markhams is led by Russell, who has over 40 years of experience in the trade. Originally a sole trader, Russell welcomed his son Alex into the business full-time in 2014, expanding the team and ensuring the continuation of family values at the heart of our work.

In 2020, James joined the team straight from school at the age of 16. His eagerness to learn, coupled with his strong work ethic and punctuality, quickly impressed both Russell and Alex. Today, James is an integral part of the Markhams family.

In 2023, we underwent a significant rebrand—the most transformative change since Russell founded the company in 1994. After careful thought and planning, we transitioned from ‘Russell Markham & Son’ to simply ‘Markhams.’ This change reflects our desire for a modern, professional identity that honours not only Russell’s legacy but also the contributions of Alex and James, who are equally vital to our team's success.

At Markhams, we are committed to combining our decades of experience with a forward-thinking approach to deliver the best possible service for our customers.

Direct unvented cylinder added inside a boiler room today. The customer can switch between using the cylinder or the boiler so hopefully he can save money on oil prices 🔥
A very very orange en-suite for this customer in Market harborough, we also did the main bathroom and downstairs toilet. All tiling, flooring, and plumbing carried out by ourselves. 🍊🛁

  • Our shower stopped working, and Russell came out almost immediately to fix it. Whilst here he also sorted a dripping tap that had been annoying us for ages, and came back the next day to do the same for a dodgy toilet cistern. He even sorted out a guttering issue. He always looks to repair, rather than replace, if that is better value for the customer. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
